He says it sounded bad because of the busted keys on the piano but it sounded great to me and the small crowd shows that it did. These pianos are popping up all over the city as a public art installation, and yes you can use them. The pianos will tell you themselves "play me i'm yours".

The line at the apple store on 14th street was nothing compared to the one at the S.O.H.O. location. The apple staff was kind enough to hand out water, ice cream, and apple umbrellas to the potential iphone customers.
