ALEXANDER WANG FALL 2011

Alexander Wang is named GQ'S Best New Menswear Designer 2011. This young designer is "the cats pajamas" right now and his luxe 2011 collection is proof of that, by having the resources to create such a line with expensive fabrics. Knits and woven silks along with sunglasses of which the stems are wrapped in a fur headband, Humberto Leon of Opening Ceremony was quoted saying "I liked the fur glasses", "They were definitely après-ski, but city style".

RAG & BONE!! FALL 2011

What these Brits created with this collection is not what I expected at all which makes it that much more refreshing and inspiring. When Fashion brands known and unknown begin to build they often if not always try to follow the trail of successful collections left behind by established houses. Rag & Bone is one of the established houses and I would like to see how anyone could try and follow this collection. Switching things up like this keeps creativity alive and forces improvement and greatness upon new and old.
